PhD in Physics (Environmental Remote Sensing)
Research Project: New Parametric Integration of Multi-Microwave Satellite For High Accuracy Tropical Cyclone Wind Speed Using Machine Learning.
Research Grant: Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) 2023 by Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi (KPT)
Duration: 3 Years.
Expected Start: Immediate.
Position: 1 PhD Student.
Location of Research: Geophysics Group, School of Physics, Universiti Sains Malaysia.
Monthly Allowance: RM2500
Minimum Requirement
- Malaysian with a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s in Geoscience or any Earth Science related field.
- Minimum CGPA of 3.00.
- Excellent in Oceanography, Meteorology & Remote Sensing.
- Knows basic programming (E.g.: MATLAB, Python).
- Good command of English.
- Demonstrates a serious passion for Earth Science research.

Research Project: Tropical Cyclone Characterization From The Microwave Remote Sensing Observations.
Duration: 1.5 – 2 Years.
Expected Start: Immediate.
Position: 1 MSc Student.
Location of Research: Geophysics Group, School of Physics, Universiti Sains Malaysia.
Minimum Requirement
- Malaysian with a Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience or any Earth Science related field.
- Minimum CGPA of ≥ 3.00.
